Developing the logo

James and Taiita had the opportunity to take over Ten Miles East from the family and wasted no time in redeveloping the brand identity to realign themselves with a young and affluent market.

Perched in the cool Adelaide Hills, Ten Miles East have a well respected Winery and Cellar Bar, whilst also selling to top-end restaurants and hotels within the city.

The previous logo was a compass and it was important that we retained some of this family nostalgia — our approach was simple, a typographic play on direction, pushing ‘miles’ slightly to the east to create a subtle but sophisticated logo.

Ten Miles East required a massive statement to re-launch the new brand so we enlisted the incredible skills of Sam Pierpoint to help us define a collection of bespoke labels, each hand crafted and holding its own story.
